August’s artist of the month is Mirko Landi, a 22 year old graphic designer from Milan, Italy. When asked what made him want to become a graphic designer Mirko answered:
“When I first started studying Visual Communication I didn’t quite expect this job to be the way it turned out to be. I got passionate understanding the importance of creating something which just not looks good, like art itself, but actually finds the best way to incorporate both beauty and meaning.”
“I don’t usually call myself just a graphic designer, cause I believe that what I deliver is beyond graphic – it’s a product, it’s sell-able and has a message in it. At the moment I’m working really hard to grow my graphic and visual skills to become a brand strategist and a consistent Art Director.”
Mirko has created these minimalist Pixar and Disney characters which he says is one of his dearest projects. It was developed independently as a personal project while having his best time in Australia. He goes on to say:
“I think that my attitude to the project reflects my state of mind during that time (in Australia). I’ve always been a great fan of traditional animation and I wanted to represent their beauty with a consistent style and create a sort of animation encyclopedia. It’s now been more than a year ago but I still wish to find the time in the close future to keep on developing this project, which also got so unexpectedly appreciated, maybe with an animated icon/gif version. Stay tuned!”
I’m glad I stumbled across this awesome project, I think it’s one of the more creative things we’ve published here on Enfuzed and I hope you all enjoy it. You can check out more from Mirko on his behance page.
