Taasky Task Management App

As designers and developers, task management is a crucial process in our everyday lives. Without order and management, getting things done on time would be near impossible. Having a way of keeping your tasks in order and all in one place is something we all need, and not necessarily just for work purposes, but for our home life as well.

Lucky for us, Taasky is here to save the day. Taasky is a beautiful, simple, and easy to use task management app, designed by Scrape apps and powered by CLEEVIO, that features a minimalist design and stunning UI. Taasky offers up categories so you can sort your tasks and filter through them easily, each category is color coded, so keeping your tasks organized is easy and effortless.

There are many task management apps out there but the problem with most of them is all the unnecessary clutter and features we don’t need or use half the time. Taasky has done a great job at eliminating all of this and focusing soley on the tasks at hand. The app also makes creating and completing tasks fun with its swipe animations and cool sounds (you can optionally turn off the sounds).

Right after downloading the app and opening it, Taasky has a nice welcome screen and it quickly walks you through how to use the app. Once you are at the main app screen you will notice the preset tasks that Taasky created for you. These tasks are for information purposes and they show you more on how to get started creating, editing, and changing the priority of tasks. I will be honest though, this app is easy enough to use so you may not need the intro tutorial.

To add a task you simply pull down on the screen or push the “+” icon at the top right. A small area will appear and you will be able to name the task (where it says “add new task”) set the date for the task, set the alert time for the task and select a category for it.

As I mentioned before, you can organize your tasks by category or “list”. It gives you four different default lists, but by visiting the settings section, you can edit them as you please and create your own categories or “lists” as you can see in the image below.

Taasky Lists

If you have tasks in place and you wish to edit them, prioritize them, or delete them you simply swipe over the task to the left and a menu is displayed as you’ll see below.

Swiping to the right brings up the main menu that displays the various categories you have set up and also the settings. This way you can display tasks from a certain list, say your tasks you have set for work so that you don’t get them confused with other tasks. Below you can see a screen capture of the main menu.

Taasky features push notifications in case you were wondering and they do work with a very distinctive sound to help you distinguish them from texts or emails.

Here are some more images of the Taasky app and if you wish to download it here is the link.

Features I wish it included

This is version 1.0 of the app that I reviewed so hopefully we will get some other additions to the app in later versions. Something that I thought would be useful is the ability to add more categories or “lists”. Right now you can only have 4 categories ( no less no more) and it would be useful to be able to add more or subtract some if needed.

*UPDATE*: Version 1.1 allows you to add more categories now!

It would be cool to have the notification badge on the icon for tasks yet to be completed, that way users know how many tasks they have left without having to open the app.

Fifty Five Hi's

Fifty Five Hi's Logo

Fifty Five Hi’s is a printing company that Ross Moody started in June of 2010 as a fun creative outlet for him to produce products that make people smile and laugh. 55 Hi’s specializes in all things paper, covering everything from greeting cards and posters to stickers and coasters.

So what made Ross decide to start 55 Hi’s? He was working a day job at an ad agency and it was sucking the life out of him so at night he would design things that he had control over to make others smile in an effort to offset the tough day job. After really starting to concentrate on it’s success as a business in mid July of 2011, Ross discovered running a small business was something he truly loved doing. After a few popular releases such as The Robot CalendarThe Letters Poster, & The Shot Glass Card in 2012, 55 Hi’s gained some significant publicity and the company began to see some real growth.

You may be asking “What’s behind the name 55 Hi’s?”. Ross explains “I say I’ll never tell but I always immediately cave and spill the beans. There is no reason. I grew up in the Blink 182 era of attaching an arbitrary number to a words and then searching for ridiculous reasons to tell people to justify it. The truth is I thought it was catchy.”

Let’s take a look at some of the awesome designs that 55 Hi’s is pumping out…

You can view and purchase all 55 Hi’s products at their online store. You can also locate a store that sells 55 Hi’s products on their store locator page.

The inspirational and funny dynamic is still the driving force and reason for why Ross, 26 years old, continued 55 Hi’s, but it has since taken on a life of it’s own and the possibilities for new items he is wanting to create are just endless. There aren’t enough hours in the day.

So what’s in store for 55 Hi’s over the next year? Ross says “This is also a tricky question. 55 Hi’s will never be a large company so our goal is always to just constantly release the best products possible and make sure people are having an amazing experience opening a package from us. Seeing pics of our stuff on Instagram and Twitter is insanely rewarding. So if you are out there posting stuff, know that we’re totally stalking you like a creepster! You can make it easier for us by tagging #55his.”

If you want to follow and share 55 Hi’s awesome products you can find them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr, and Vimeo.

Fostr Logo

What is Fostr? Fostr is an iPhone app created by Sean Fournier that lets you share the creative projects you’ve always wanted to finish. Why am I writing about this? Well, sometimes I when browsing the web I will stumble across a new start up or company that I find intriguing and I think “man that could be awesome if they had the right amount of support” and I wish I could somehow back them or help them out.

Then I came across this new start up called Fostr, and it gave me an idea. Why not start a Company Spotlight section to get some of these start ups noticed? So here it is, the first Company Spotlight post featuring the upcoming mobile app, Fostr.

I figured it is only fitting to make the first spotlight feature a company that is aiming to do the same thing Enfuzed is aiming to do, help designers get noticed. Fostr is an app driven toward helping creatives gain support and finish the projects they’ve always wanted to finish. Support, Follow, & Cultivate Creativity is their slogan and that’s what they are trying to do.

Let us take a look at the key features of Fostr:

  • Discover – Discover great projects that people are working on by filtering by a whole bunch of creative categories.
  • Support & Contribute – Follow the progress of projects that you believe in and contribute your feedback and guidance.
  • Increase Ranking – Based on the quality of your feedback, you could be among the Top Supporters.
  • Earn Badges – The more you engage with the community, the more badges you earn.
  • Create – With an invite, you can share your own creative projects and gain support and feedback from the community.
  • Finish – Gain the motivation, support, feedback, and guidance to finally complete that project you’ve always wanted to finish.

Fostr is a mix of all the great creatives websites out there (like behance, Dribbble, and Creattica to name a few) but with one key difference that caught my eye – it’s geared toward helping each other. Don’t get me wrong, people on behance and dribbble and those other portfolio sites help each other, but in the end they are just portfolio sites set on self promotion and helping #1 get noticed. Now that we’ve covered that, let’s get to the fun part of taking a look at the app:

Fostr App Support Page

Fostr App Discover Page

Fostr App Project Page

Fostr App Profile Page

Fostr App Badges Page

Fostr comes with various ranks based on the user. The first is a supporter, all members who sign up are supporters. As a supporter, you can discover great projects that other people are working on. By supporting these projects, you can follow their growth, gain inspiration, and even contribute your own input. With an invite, supporters can be upgraded to a creator.

Creators are supporters that can create their own creative projects, allowing them to share their creative progress and gain feedback from their very own supporters.

Fostr App Rank Page

Fostr is set up similar to dribbble in that only invited members (creators) can create a project. All creators (members who can create projects) are invited by Fostr or other creators. Having members take responsibility for those they invite sharpens the focus on sharing quality and interesting work. Fostr also limits invitations, which helps the company scale the app and their support of it.

Now to the important questions you are probably asking:

How Do You Get Started?

Once Fostr is available, you can sign up as a supporter using an email address. Once you’ve logged in, you can discover projects to support, request an invite to become a creator to post your own projects, and more. You can sign up to be alerted for when private beta comes out at

How Much Will It Cost?

At launch Fostr will be free, and their goal is to keep it free of charge forever. Like Evernote and Dropbox, they hope to add a _premium set of paid features over time.

When Will the App be Available?

Fostr is currently in development and aiming for a private beta launch this summer (July or August 2013). Visit the blog at or follow them on Twitter at for the latest news and updates.

What devices does Fostr support?

Fostr is currently for iPhone. We’ll be adding support for other devices as we go.

Who’s Behind Fostr?

Fostr was created by Sean Fournier, a musician and designer who wanted to make a place for people to reach their creative goals. Find him on Twitter at
